MEET ROCKY…
Rocky is a wild desert tortoise who was casually crossing a road in Joshua Tree National Park, minding his own business, when he was struck by a vehicle. Rocky suffered major trauma to his shell and organs beneath, but managed to crawl off the road. Park staff took him in, bandaged his shell and nursed him back to health over 6 long months. Rocky as now been released back to the wild.
JTLab’s work on the “Be Tortoise Aware” campaign, in collaboration with Joshua Tree National Park and the Department of Fish and Wildlife, utilizes smart design to raise awareness of the dangers vehicles pose to tortoises and deliver tortoise safety messages to visitors.
Donate and be a part of the work we do to save the lives of tortoises like Rocky.
